The exterior of a fiberglass boat is a resin called gelcoat. Without proper care, this surface can become chalky and lose its shine. Fortunately, the gelcoat can be restored through a process of compounding and polishing. After this process a coat of wax is applied. If waxed regularly, the boat will never have to be polished again!
